The Department of Physiology and Cell Biology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine is currently seeking Postdoctoral Scientists to work in the laboratory of Jay Naik, PhD. The postdoctoral fellow duties include but are not limited to organizing and implementing complex research plans, the development of new methods, testing and data collection, analysis and interpretation of experimental results, and writing and submitting manuscripts for publication. Current projects in the lab investigate the role of endothelial membrane cholesterol in the regulation of ion channel function and the role of extracellular vesicles in endothelial dysfunction in the microcirculation in the setting of hypercholesterolemia. The candidate will be expected to possess superior communication skills, work independently, have a strong work ethic and high ethical standards, and present their research on a regular basis to peers in weekly laboratory meetings and at national meetings. No teaching will be required of this position.
