Duties and Responsibilities
A postdoctoral position is available to investigate the regulatory mechanism of blood vessel maturation and stabilization. The previous findings from this laboratory revealed the importance of small GTPase R-Ras for morphogenesis, maturation, and stabilization of regenerating blood vessels (Nature Communications 2017, Cancer Cell 2012, Nature Medicine 2005).
The goal of the present study is to exploit the R-Ras pathways in order to modulate blood vessels for therapeutic advantage, for instance 1) to block metastasis and improve drug delivery and anti-tumor immunity in cancer, or 2) to improve blood perfusion in ischemic diseases. The ideal candidates will have expertise in signal transduction, vascular biology, immunology, and/or cancer biology. Candidates must be highly self-motivated, independent individuals with M.D. or Ph.D. and hold strong publication records in one or more of the relevant areas.
